REVIEW OF "SLEEPY LOU" a solo album by Paul in 2010

Reviewed by Kim Lansford, The Ozark Mountaineer: July/August 2011

Such a repertoire isn't easy to pull off. Suffice it to say that he succeeds mightily...McGowen's playing is personally and uniquely refined. Invariably he captures on a deep level, just how beautiful and mysterious this music actually is...There is indeed a certain pleasant and indescribable quality to his voice that suits the material.
